Setting out your own career path
After a career of 23 years in the Belgian Defense, it was time for a change. The slogan that attracted me to become a Logica employee was “You have your career in your own hands”. Now, 4 years later, I can say that I have taken my career in my own hands. I am a senior Java Developer and group leader for the Java Competence Center. Due to the fact that we are developing innovative, state-of-the-art Java Enterprise applications, Logica foresees training possibilities for the consultants to keep in line with the fast changing technologies.
Logica is a global player and in the context of “One Logica”, you get in contact with other countries and cultures. Logica has a strong focus on people management and provides a working environment where work and life is balanced.
Logica offers me a lot of variation in my daily job and gives me the opportunities to set out my career path in the way that I want.

Armed with the knowledge I had gained from my previous marketing experience in the chemical and healthcare sectors, I joined the IT business and consultancy sector with great enthusiasm. It has now been almost a year since I assumed this new role, one that I find is often challenging, but at the same time, stimulating, full of opportunities to be creative and to innovate. At Logica, the environment is very dynamic and fast-paced, and offers me the chance to work on state-of-the-art projects with talented international colleagues. I am delighted that showing initiative with a can-do mentality is really valued here!

I started my career at Logica (Softguide) back in 1998… the golden years in IT. We have now just being merged with CGI, which will be a challenge for the company but eventually I am convinced it will be an enrichment for both companies and their employees.
During my career at Logica I made an evolution from developer over functional analyst to project lead. Thanks to the variety of projects I was able to develop my skills. This resulted in being a key person in guiding a team through new developments and payroll support in a continuously changing HR environment at a major international pharmaceutical company.
Logica has given me the opportunity to grow in my role at this project and move forward in my career. It is great to work for a company like ours. I can always rely on my colleagues for advice.
